JUMBO 4

This time it is a mouth watering 8 cars.

In the summer of 2004 there were 7 new Plus 8 cars collected. This record will stand for ever, as the Morgan factory no longer make this model.

At the beginning of November 2004, a glimmer of a small ‘mini’ Jumbo was mooted. The sales manager, Mark Ledington quaked in his boots at the thought of another Rutter Jumbo collection, even a small one, as it tends to ‘gum up’ the Morgan factory dispatch bay. This ‘mini’ Jumbo of four cars turned into a mega Jumbo of the 8 cars, which you can see being collected, February 7th 2005 was the epic date.

For the first time, Melvyn had invited all the owners down to celebrate this very special occasion, witness the loading of their prized new possessions and to meet the Chairman along with the Morgan Company Directors. A factory tour was given by the sales director, Matthew Parkin and following that, lunch was very kindly laid on by the Morgan Company.

Each new owner was presented with a framed certificate by Alan Garnett (chairman), which had been signed by all the directors present. Alan gave his customary excellent closing speech, which was complete when chilled sparking wine was served to toast the cars and the owners. A very great day that will never be forgotten by the owners or indeed all at the Morgan Company who not only made it happen, but were part of the celebrations that Melvyn had engineered.
